Sometimes exercise really isn’t enough. No amount of dieting or rigorous activity will melt off certain fatty deposits, or cellulite. While this is not a secret, most women still believe that just another crunch or lunge will finally make it disappear. Fortunately, invasive surgery isn’t the only option anymore. There no longer needs to be a lengthy recovery period keeping you away from doing the things you love – like exercising. There no longer needs to be discomfort waiting for your body to heal. Now there’s CoolSculpting, the new, innovative way to get rid of unwanted cellulite.
Why Is It Called CoolSculpting?
Well, CoolSculpting uses Cryolipolysis, which is a technique that has extremely cold temperatures destroy the layers of fat cells. What’s awesome about that is how the surrounding tissue remains unaffected and therefore remains healthy. The weeks following the procedure, your body naturally metabolizes the lifeless cells. And once your body heals, you’ll see a 25-35 percent reduction in fatty tissue!
Ninety Percent of Women Have Cellulite
Almost every woman has cellulite somewhere on her body, and CoolSculpting can treat pretty much everywhere. It can treat your abdomen (say goodbye to your muffin top), your flanks (bye, bye, love handles), your upper back, (adios, bra rolls). What about the stubborn fat along the trunk, arms, and legs? CoolSculpting can also treat that, and your lower back.
Candidates:
As long as you’re in relatively good health and have bulging fat that diet and exercise can’t erase, you’re the right fit for this procedure. But before approval, please understand the CoolSculpting process and have reasonable expectations about what kinds of results you can achieve.
During a consultation, Dr. Vitenas will perform a quick physical exam, and you two will discuss your expectations. If Dr. Vitenas thinks that CoolSculpting is right for you, he will create a treatment plan tailored for you.
How Cold Is CoolSculpting?
There are three different size applicators, depending on individual target areas. Using light suction, the skin will be gently pulled up by the applicators. This procedure is not painful, so anesthesia isn’t needed. The two CoolSculpting paddles that were placed at the beginning of the procedure, one on each side of the treatment location, will chill. They’ll stay in place for about an hour. (It targets one area per hour. But Mirror Mirror has more than one CoolSculpting machine available, so two areas can be treated at the same time!) There will be a deep cold and mild pulling sensation, but that will only last for the first few minutes before the area numbs.
Since the procedure takes places at Mirror Mirror in one of its comfortable, private rooms, as you wait for the procedure to be completed, you can enjoy a beverage, talk on the phone, browse the Internet, or sleep.
The Recovery
All activities can be resumed right away: You can work, even workout. There might be mild redness, swelling, and bruising at first, but that will disappear over the next several weeks. There can be some itching and tenderness as well, which will resolve quickly.
The Results Take Time
Since the results won’t be immediately noticeable, you’re going to need to be patient: It takes anywhere from two to four months for your body to completely reabsorb the excess fatty tissue. After 16 weeks or so, you’ll see the full results. At that time, if you’d like more CoolSculpting to be done, you can schedule another appointment. Although the benefits are long lasting, other fatty tissue can develop, so you must keep a healthy diet and regular exercise routine to maintain the results.
